I gained a BA Honours in Media and Cultural studies from the University of Roehampton and started my career at the Italian sports brand ellesse.
Here I wrote for the official brand website and reached a diverse global audience using social media to build a loyal fan base which in turn, revived the appeal of the heritage brand.
I then moved across to print journalism where I worked for The Financial Times and became Head of Special Reports, Culture, Fashion and Lifestyle in Africa.
For five years I combined my passion for research and reporting. Visiting Sub-Saharan Africa’s emerging markets to uncover and showcase creatives, designers and artists whilst identifying commercial advertising opportunities and securing revenue.
My research formed three annual Special Reports read by 240million readers of the Weekend FT - one of my greatest career achievements to date!
Shortly after leaving I launched my own media platform and founded the digital wedding planning resource, Wedding Status.
At the time no other publication or digital platform curated content for today's discerning couple - individuals getting married later on in life or those cultured couples prioritising premium experiences and intimate settings, over traditional ceremonies and meringue dresses!
I wrote, directed, produced and edited all video footage and the platform's niche editorial and video content quickly attracted a diverse international audience, alongside high-end brands.
The diverse mix of written, visual, audio and video viewed, offered visitors a rare glimpse into the world of luxury bridal - it quickly became "thee" destination for engaged couples and an immersive experience for aspirational artisans.
I have always had a passion for media and an eagerness to present the viewpoints of niche audiences. I am curious about the world and want my journalism to help shift perspectives, challenge stereotypes and tell stories in a relatable way.
My life ambition is to become an on-screen culture and lifestyle reporter and international magazine editor - but let's see what the future has in store!
